Build Your Website

The idea of selling online is to build a business that's fun, lucrative and simple to run.

A website makes it so easy to do this. Without a website,

it's hard work. Trust me, I know this from experience.

Your website is your virtual office address. Your shop.

Your money transfer service.

Everyone who wants what you sell comes there, checks

out what you have on display and makes a decision to

buy or not buy.

Your marketing messages are stored there. Your info,

your contact details, everything.

Without a website, it's tedious, cumbersome and you'll

fall out of love with your passion because sooner rather

than later, it will seem like a job.

Without a website, you won’t be able to retarget people

who checked on your product easily.

And the great thing is, it is simple to get a website. All

you need is a domain name, web hosting and wordpress.

1. Domain Name: You need a domain name to sell your

expertise from The domain name is the address people use to get to

your site.

For example, Google domain name is www.google.com.

You can register a domain with any number of registrars

or providers – basically you pay an annual fee to use that

particular web address.

If you stop paying, someone else can use the domain

instead.

Domain names are really cheap. The cost is around

N=4,000($9) each.

I buy all my domain names from NameCheap and I

strongly advise you do the same.

They are superb and have a really great service, and will

not confiscate your domain name for the silliest reason

like many others.

Check them out and register your domains here:

I recommend that you buy all of your domain names

from there.

Just click on the link above to purchase yours now.

2. Web Hosting: You also need web hosting space to put

the content of your website on which will then be

displayed when people type in your domain name online.

Website hosting is the service that actually stores your

website's files.

Self-hosted websites rent server space from a company

that agrees to store your files in exchange for a small

fee. This is what you need.

You need at least 4 GB of web hosting space for every

domain name you register so that your website can cope

with traffic surges and spikes without crashing.

As your traffic and average visitor time increases, your

web hosting company will alert you so you can increase

your web hosting space accordingly.

I recommend Who Go Host for your website hosting

WhoGoHost is a Nigerian based web hosting company

with a great reputation.

They host some of the biggest Nigerian websites like

Slot, GTbank,etc.

Choose their N9,500 per year hosting package (which

will allow you to host up to 3 websites without any extra

charge) and pay with your card.

WARNING!

Do not buy your domain and your web hosting from the

same place.

Here's why.

You want to be able to move your files to a new place if

anything goes wrong with your hosting company

For example if hackers take over your website and the

hosting company also registers your domain, you're

cooked.

You will be mad at your web host and decide to move

your site, you'll also probably want to transfer your

domain if it's registered with the old host.

It will be almost as annoying, time-consuming, confusing

and painful, it will take days to enable, sometimes weeks.

But if you've registered the domain elsewhere, you don't

have to do anything except update your DNS settings to

point to the new host and upload your back ups.

Some vendors tell you they will give you the domain

name free of charge, if you buy hosting from them.

DO NOT DO IT.

This is because when someone or company registers a

domain name for you, it doesn't belong to you, IT

BELONGS TO THEM.

And they can take it back anytime. If your domain

becomes really valuable, they can take it back anytime

they like and you lose all the time and hard work you

have invested into building it.

Designing Your Website

The five pages of your website you need to design are:

1. PreSell Page: This houses your free content which

educates your prospects, establishes you as an

authority, clears doubt and instills confidence in them.

When you run adverts about your product/service, this

is where you must send your prospects to.

2. Opt-In Page (Optional): Here's your prospects joining

your list/database to hear and learn more about your

product/service.

This is optional because your presell page can also serve

as your optin page.

Just like www.strangertopartner.com

3. Sales Page: This is the page that describes your

solution, sells the benefits, makes the offer, names the

price(s), and asks them to buy.

This is also where you stack up your value and offer

immediately after they opt in or later if you want to send

them from your email.

4. Order Page: Here, they get to see payment details and

how to pay.

This is linked to your payment gateway to aid easy

checkout.

5. Thank You Page: Here is where they are automatically

redirected to if they pay online or to which you send

them manually if they pay to your bank account using

internet transfers or direct bank deposits.

There they can access the product it's a digital download

or see details of how it will be sent to them if it is a

physical product like a printed book.

So here's the sequence:

Adverts ==> PreSell page==> Opt-In page (optional) ==>

Sales page ==> Order page ==> Thank You page.

How do you create these pages?

You use: WordPress + A Theme + Plugins

WordPress is the base software that powers your entire

website.

It comes for free with your hosting. All you need is

install it on your domain and you're set to go.

Then you need a theme.

In WordPress, a theme is a collection of templates used

to define the appearance and display of a WordPress

powered website.

They can be changed, managed, and added from the

WordPress admin area under Appearance » Themes.

There are several free and paid WordPress Themes

available.

This means that you can move parts of the templates

around to build and achieve any look and feel you want

on your website.

All you simply need to do is activate it, edit and add your

own content that you already created.

Then you need plugins

A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of

functions that can be added to a WordPress website.

They can extend functionality or add new features to

your WordPress websites.

WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming

language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress.

They are all FREE.

PREPARING YOUR CUSTOMER AVATAR

In everything you want to sell, if you don't have a targeted

audience.

You are preparing to experience silence all through and

that means no sales.

One way I know that will guarantee you sales in the long

run is you preparing your customer avatar.

So what is this customer avatar I always talk about?

A customer avatar is a detailed profile of your ideal

customer.

The avatar focuses on one person and outlines everything

about them.

This literally means you are preparing this avatar for just

one person that will represent the rest of your customers.

How exactly do you prepare a customer avatar?

To understand your client, you need to know what they

want, what they need, where they hang out, and how to

find them.

These elements will give you deep insight and let you know

if you're on the right track for success.

You'll know if there's even enough reason to ever sell that

particular topic and if not, lets you choose something else

and not go waste time and money.

When you don't understand your clients, you'll waste tons

of time and money.

Even worse, you might run out of the passion and drive

that inspired you to become an entrepreneur.

It's straightforward, even easy, to find out and know

exactly who your ideal customer or client is.

To do this effectively, all you need to do is to take some

time and effort to understand your potential clients and

audience.

And you start by knowing these four things:

1. How do you find them?

2. What do they want?

3. What do they need?

4. Where do they hang out?

To get started right, you need to get... INSIDE THEIR

MIND.

When you get inside the minds of your potential clients

and audience, you will start to understand them inside and

out.

You can almost feel what they feel.

You can hear what they hear.

And you can see what they see.

When that happens: You will create solutions that are

impossible for them to resist.

Your products and services will be absolutely irresistible.

That's what you want as an entrepreneur. You want to feel

fulfilled. You want to be rewarded. You want to serve and

make an impact.

Truly understanding your clients might sound like a

complicated thing to do.

It may feel like a massive goal, but it's a very attainable

goal.. How to do it?

Step 1: FACEBOOK AUDIENCE INSIGHTS

This is a goldmine some people don’t understand at all.

This tool has helped me more than I can even talk about

here.

But it’s not bad if i show you the way right? Let’s get to it

right now.

But mind you, you need a Facebook business account

before you will be able to use this goldmine called

FACEBOOK AUDIENCE INSIGHTS.

You can get a facebook business account by creating an

account on business.facebook.com.

After creating the account, just follow the steps outlined in

the pictures below to get to your Audience Insights.

The picture below is your ads manager page. Just follow

the arrow to get it very easy and straightforward.

Step 2: FACEBOOK GROUPS AND PAGES

This is about searching through Facebook and finding

groups and pages related to your chosen topic.

You can do this by typing your niche (take fashion as an

example) in the search box at the top of your Facebook

profile,

And you'll see a list of the different parts of Facebook you

can browse. Your focus here is on “Pages” and “Groups”.

It's easy to see that this would be a place where your

clients are likely to hang out because this page deals a lot

with the questions and problems Fashion designers

grapple with.

Now, scroll through and read the posts to get a precise

picture of the kinds of questions and answers that are hot

around the topic of Fashion.

You don't have to do this all day, every day, of course.

Set aside 30 minutes or an hour a day, a few times a week,

to run through posts until you're confident you have a

good grasp of what internet marketers want.

This works for all kinds of businesses.

Doing this allows you to deep dive into market research

and find out what your clients need and the solutions

they're searching for.

Step 3: The Ideal Avatar Creation exercise.

After you have gotten all of the info on 1, 2 and 3 above, the

next thing you will do is create an avatar that represents

your ideal customer.

It consists of questions that will help you create a client

persona — the ideal person — you want to and who will be

best served with your products and services.

From the exercise in Step 1 above, you should have a pretty

good idea about the characteristics and makeup of your

ideal customer.

So, here's what I want you to do.

I want you to look at the I questions below and answer

them honestly.

Don't write down the answer you think you should write.

Write the real answer. The one that comes from your

heart.

Be guided by the info you got from the first three steps

above. It should take you around 20 minutes (at most).

Here are the questions:

Who are they? What's their name? (This may sound strange.

Just give your potential client a name)

How old are they? (Age range)

What's their sex? Are they male or female?

Where do they live? Country? State?

Where do they work? For the Government? For private

companies? Are they self employed? Do they own their own

company?

Are they single? Married? Engaged?

How much do they earn? (Income range)

What's their education level?

What current frustrations do they feel when it comes to

your topic?(Write down at least 5)

What publications do they read?

What TV shows do they watch?

What kind of products/services are they already buying?

Please don't skip any of these three steps for

understanding your clients.

They are literally going to be the difference between

success and failure.
